Verify and Discard: Why We Refuse to Store Your ID

The standard objection to ID-verified dating is fair: “so a dating app holds my driver’s license forever?” Under most architectures, yes — and their eventual breach is your permanent problem. We built TrueOne on the opposite covenant: verify everything, store nothing.

How verify-and-discard works

At signup, your government ID and live selfie are checked against each other — liveness, match, validity. The system produces one durable fact: this account passed. Then the documents and biometric images are discarded. What survives is the badge, not the paperwork. There is no ID vault to breach because there is no ID vault.

What we can’t do (on purpose)

We can’t re-inspect your license later; can’t sell document data; can’t leak what we never kept. Constraint is the feature. The full walkthrough lives at how verification works, and our privacy policy says it in binding language.

Why this unlocks everything else

Mandatory verification is only ethical when privacy survives it. Verify-and-discard resolves the tension — which is why we can require what other platforms only offer: EVERY member verified, no exceptions, and nobody’s documents sitting in a database waiting for a bad day.

Ready for dating where everyone is real?

Every TrueOne member passes government-ID and live selfie verification before their profile exists. Nothing stored. No exceptions.
